Donations to Support Caire's Landing Foundation's Renovation and Preservation Efforts
To move forward, we first have to look back, to commemorate what we once were as a family and a community. Then, to the destruction caused by Hurricane Ida in August 2021, especially the catastrophic destruction of the roof of the “old” brick store.
Now, plans are in place to bring Uncle Warren’s ideas of a museum in the family stores to realization, as we strive to save these historic buildings and restore their presence on the Great River Road.
Renovations to the “new” wood store will include a museum/coffee shop, a comfortable meeting space for small groups and a larger southern-style event venue. Renovations to the “old” brick store will initially include removal of the antique historical items and fixtures inside, and the building will be stabilized and re-roofed. Potential future use and function will be determined later.
With the establishment of the Caire’s Landing Foundation, we are asking for your help to restore and preserve these buildings for future generations, to make them useful again for the local community and to educate travelers to Edgard and South Louisiana.
All donations are tax-deductible.
